那么，接种疫苗为什么就能预防疾病呢?原来这是根据传染病病后免疫的道理，将病原微生物及其代谢产物，经过人工灭活、减毒，使其丧失致病性但仍保留免疫原性;或者通过基因工程方法制成疫苗，给人体接种，可以刺激人体产生抵抗相应病原微生物的抗体，人们一旦再感染这种病原微生物时，就不会患病了。
怎么样，接种疫苗是不是非常神奇呢!通过接种相应疫苗，我们就像穿了一层厚厚的铠甲，对相应病原微生物有了抵抗力。几十年的实践证明，预防接种是预防和控制传染病最经济、最有效、最安全的方式之一。
