It is an important traffic hub of the park: buses and private cars all stop here. Enter the park and you can see the transport we offer you---the round mini-train of the 19th century. The long battery car will let you surf the Happy Valley. Fjord Forest will present you romantic springs, silent forest, and fresh ecological experience. What is the most important action for the government to take for the protection of environmental problems? Fund researches on new energy sources such as solar and wind power? Protect forests and natural wildlife species? Pass and enforce laws to reduce the pollution.

Taking a panoromic view of human history, we can readily find that the natural environment plays an enormously important role in determing the future of each and every country. Given the great significance of clean environment, the general public as well as the governors begin to wonder which is the most essential action to protect the environment, among funding new energy research, preserving natural habitat or enacting strict laws. Towards such a long-running tug-of-war, I am inclined to argue that national governments should invest financial support in developing new energy sources.

Initially, spending more money in discovering new energy can radically solve the various environmental problems. As is common sense, the deteriorating environment is the result of the overexploitation of fossil fuels, including coal, oil and natural gas. To be specific, numerous chemical plants usually burn the coal to provide power for manufacturing all kinds of goods designed to satisfy the basic needs of the general public. As a result, a large amounts of industrial wastes are discharged to take a toll on the natural environment. Also, an increasing number of petrol-powered automobiles will definitely emit car exhause(. fumes and toxic gas), which can increase the likelihood of the public suffering from respiratory diseases. All the above problems related to environment can be resolved by find new and clean energy like solar energy, wind power and tidal power. Undoubtedly, replacing the traditional energy with the new ones can dramatically decrease the pollution and contamination, thus leading to a better living environment. For example, once the cars uses the electricity instead of petrol, the air quality will improve to a large extent.

Secondly, there are conspicuous limitation of the other two options. As for preserving natural places, the effect of this practice is relatively restricted. To illustrate, the traditional energy sources are usually exploited and discovered in the natural places. Consequently, the preservation of natural places will hinder the access to various energy and thus impede the progress of the whole society. Also, the same logic applies to passing laws to reduce pollution. It is an indisputable fact that across the globe, many countries now are heaviely dependent on the industries and factories which produce pollutions. In other words, once the law of punishing these companies is enforced, these corporation may have to cut down their output and make less profits, even ending up going bankcrupt. Accordingly, the national economy and the living standard of the public will suffer too.

Factoring what has been discussed above, we can conclude that funding research of environmental friendly energy will be more preferable, because finding proper alternative energy is the key to solving the environmental problems comprehensively.

Students should spend at least one year working or travelling before they go to the university.

The prevailing notion is that high school students are under huge pressure. Then appears a controversy whether students should have one year to engage in other things before they attend their university. After weighing the pros and cons, I am favor of the opinion that having a gap year can produce many benefits.

First off, students can benefit a lot from traveling. As everyone knows, to maintain strong competitiveness, high school students are required to accomplish a wide range of either required or optional curriculums at school and the rights to develop their own interests have been deprived relentlessly, which has proven to be a detriment of their growth. Instead of pursuing their bachelor degree without pause in the college, traveling can help them regain chances to cultivate and perfect their personalities and release pressure. For instance, many more college graduates are reported to be indifferent to the society and show no mercy on those in need, part of which owes a lot to the fact that schools lay more emphasis on cultivating students’ academic abilities and downplay the importance of developing their overall qualities. Traveling to those places in poverty can give students a sight of those impoverished families to call on the sense of responsibility. Besides, by paying a visit to some places of interest like the Great Wall or the pyramid in Egypt, students can approach the greatness of diverse culture. What’s more, the direct access to the natural world can appease students’ inner uproar. Accordingly, a gap year can be a great asset for high school graduates.

Secondly, by taking part-time jobs, not only can students accumulate sufficient social experience but also earn some money to reduce financial stress on their families. Though economy in China keeps growing at a rate of almost 9 percent in the recent, average citizens still suffer huge pressure especially when the slump of stock market took a heavy toll on them and the majority of stock investors withdrew their money and reinvest to the real estate, further increasing pressure on the ordinary because of the increasing prices of housing. For most families from small cities and rural areas, college tuition still appears to be a great burden on them and by taking part-time jobs, students can earn some wages to relieve financial pressure, such as serving as a restaurant attendant that enables students to better develop their communication techniques and learn more about how to meet the demands of consumers or working as a salesman that will be an entirely different experience from high schools and can lead to the cultivation of the ability of presenting customers the advantages of products. Obviously, a gap year means a lot to high school graduates.

Admittedly, there is another voice that high school students are supposed to start their campus life immediately after graduation from high schools. To be more specific, maintaining high-efficiency study can lead students to be better acclimated to their college life. Instead of going to college soon, a gap year may disrupt their study schedule and weaken their learning skills. It appears to be sensible, however; the ultimate goal of attending a university is to seek a decent job and gaining social experience in advance makes students more conscious of which kind of area they are more interested in in the near future such as the serving industry or high-tech fields.

In conclusion, high school graduates had better live a different life temporarily before they go to college.

The Job I Like After four years’ study in the college, I will graduate soon. I am looking for the job, at the same time, I try to figure out what kind of job I like. Deep in my heart, I want to be a teacher and I want to go further, being a college teacher is the job I like best.

In the college, I feel free and the knowledge I learn is various. Unlike high school, the teachers pay much attention to the paper, so their mainly purpose is to let the students get the high mark and enter the ideal colleges. College teachers educate the students in a very different way, they pay attention to the students’ critical minds. I like this free atmosphere.

In order to achieve my dream and get the job I like, the first thing I need to do is to get the further study. I have passed the postgraduate entrance exam and I feel very excited. I will learn as more as possible and improve myself as the excellent student. I believe I can get the job I like.

1、托福写作需要多少字;

2、字数不够(比较少)会不会影响分数;

Should a person with an incurable illness spend his last days in a hospital where he or she can receive the best possible medical care? Or should this person be permitted to die at home? These two questions are difficult to answer and may cause some heated arguments. My view is that we have to consider two different situations and make our decisions accordingly.

The first possible situation is that the patient is still conscious and able to express himself. In this case, we should talk to him and find out his own opinion. If he wishes to stay in a hospital, we should send him there and try to get the best medical care for him no matter how much it will cost. If he wants to stay at home, we should show respect for his opinion and do our best at home for him no matter how troublesome it may be. The rationale of this view is that the best we can do for a dying person is to satisfy his last wishes except when he wants anthanasia in a country in which it is still illegal.

The other possible situation is that the patient is no longer able to express himself. In this case, it is better to let him stay at home and spend his last days with his relatives. This view is based on the following considerations. This first is that since the patient is going to die anyway, it is better for him to die at home instead of a place where his relatives are not allowed to stay with him all the time. The second is that it would be a waste of money, time, and energy to hospitalize the patient. The third is that what a hospital can do for a dying person can only bring more suffering to him. For instance, operations or intravenous drips are useless and painful and fist aids applied to him can only make him live longer to suffer more. The best thing a hospital can do is to reduce his pains in his last days, but this can also be done at home.

In short, my view is that when the questions are considered objectively, the answer is clear: it is better for him, for his relatives, and for society if the patient stays and dies at home. However, as human beings, we cannot discuss a patient without emotional considerations. To fully understand this position, we can just imagine how we would feel if one of our realties were suffering from an incurable illness.

Young university students are sensible to fashions. Some are keen on following fashions: they use mobile phones of the latest style; they wear stylish clothes; they enjoy popular music.

Some people are not happy with this phenomenon. They argue that university students should focus on studies rather than on fashions. They say fashions cost so much that university students cannot afford them. Some students follow fashions crazily, for fear of losing face. Fashions have caused much trouble on campus.

However, others may hold different opinions. They say fashions can drive students to work harder for a better life and broaden their horizons, which is essential for their future development.

I understand those students who follow fashions, but they must be responsible and not go to extremes. If their family is poor, there is no need for them to have such luxurious hobbies.

In the world of detective novels, Sherlock Holmes is undoubtedly the most famous one. But for me, the greatest detective in novels is Hercule Poirot, a little Belgian who always uses his little grey cells to find the truth.

I really appreciate him for various reasons, such as his having an insight into other people's psychology, his understanding on hunman nature and his being merciful. But most improtant thing is that he looks more like a real human being, compared with Holmes or other legend detectives. He has such a funny appearance, an egg-shaped head and exaggerated moustache . He enjoys delicious cuisine and focuses on his own dressing. He is always humor and likes to mock himself. he prefers to stay with young peole for being attracted by their vigor and energy. And there are still so many lovely features of him I can list.

Anyway, I like him and appreciate him. I always get touched by the philosophy of life in his storys. Hercule Poirot is indeed my favourite detective.

I grew up in a small town and then moved to a big city, so I have experienced the good and bad sides of both. I never thought that I would like living in a big city, but I was wrong. After ten years of living in one, I can’t imagine ever living in a small town again.

Small towns and big cities both have some problems in terms of transportation. In a small town, you have to own a car to ensure a comfortable living. You can’t get around without one because there isn’t any kind of public transportation. Big cities generally have heavy traffic and expensive parking, but there you have a choice of taking public transportation. It’s not free, but it’s often cheaper than driving when you consider gas and time. Especially if you don’t have a car, you’re better off in the city.

I love the excitement of big cities. Small towns have a slow pace. Large cities mean you have to adapt to a variety of situations, like finding a new route to work or trying a new restaurant. I enjoy that challenge very much. Another pan of the excitement of city living is the variety of cultural activities available. There is a wide assortment of theatre, music and dance performances available in big cities. These things are rare in small ones.

The final thing I like about large cities is the diversity of the people. The United States is made up of people of different races, religions, abilities, and interests. However, you seldom find such a variety of people in a smaller town. I think that living in an area where everyone was just like me would quickly become boring.

Of course, security is a concern, and that’s one area where small towns are superior to big cities. Still, I would rather be a bit more cautious and live in a large city than to feel secure but bored.

My summer vacation life is almost over, I also really a little loathe to give up, in this the rest of the short time I have tried to review the knowledge of the fourth grade, to meet the test of a new semester.

Diverse background. “[Job hoppers] probably can point to experience in a number of different industries and different size companies, and exposure to a variety of challenges,” says Tracy Cashman, a partner and general manager in the IT Search division at WinterWyman. “Someone who has a diverse background is often more attractive to a potential employer because they potentially bring new ideas and ways of doing things. Just make sure to keep some kind of record of what projects you accomplished where, and make sure one to two people at each company will serve as a reference.”

Access to more information and resources. “With the entrance of the Internet came a previously nonexistent pipeline of information that functioned as a massive catalyst for change in the employment market,” Parnell says. “The skill sets necessary to keep up with this changemust be diverse, dynamic and ever-evolving. In most cases, the environment necessary to foster this growth can’t be found under a single roof. Working in several different environments provides access to different resources – both human and informational – that one couldn’t gain through a single employer.”

Exposure to different businesses and people. “Job hopping gives employees the opportunity to expand their experiences and shop around their talents,” adds Kahn. “By working at multiple companies you will get to see ways that others are conducting business, while expanding your network to a whole new pool of professionals.

You’ll have a large, resourceful network. “Social and professional networks are more active and influential than ever before,” Parnell says. “While networking used to be important, today it is vital in such a competitive market. Different employers provide access to different networks in which to plant roots and farm relationships; one day these may prove helpful or even career-saving.”

A chance to find the right fit. Job hopping gives you more opportunities to figure out what you like and don’t, and what is important to you in a position and company, Cashman says. “That way, when you are finally ready to settle down for several years, you know what you are looking for.”

Exposure to different jobs. Job hopping gives an employee the opportunity to see what other job are out there, Kahn says. “This could lead to an upgrade of title, salary, benefits or even work environment.”

An opportunity to show off some of your best attributes. Job hopping allows you toshow employers that you are flexible, adaptable and a quick learner,” as well as someone who is not afraid of change or taking risks,” Cashman says. “For some industries and companies this will be a selling point.”

More money. “More often than not, an employer and their employee have a conflict of interests: the employer wants a lot of work for little pay, and the employee wants little work for a lot of pay,” Parnell explains. “While they often meet in the middle when initially negotiating salary–because the future employee has some leverage prior to an acceptance–the subsequent raises are usually lackluster. Jumping to a new position almost always results in more money than a simple raise will provide.”

In 1990, new rules and guidelines were adopted in the United Kingdom that has changed the whole field of Archaeology in that country. The new guidelines improved the situation in all there areas discussed in the passage.

First, the new guidelines state that before any construction project can start, the construction site has to be examined by archaeologists to see whether the site is of archaeological interest or value. If the site is of archaeological interest, the next step is for the builders, archaeologists and local government officials to get together and make a plan for preserving the archaeological artifacts, either by building around them or by excavating and documenting them properly before the construction is allowed to proceed.

Second, an important part of the new guidelines is a rule that any archaeological work done on the construction site will be paid for by the construction company not by the government. The construction company has to pay for the initial examination of the site, and then for all the work carried out under the preservation plan. This is a whole new source of financial support. The funding from construction companies has allowed researchers to study a far greater range of archaeological sites than they could in the past.

Last, the new guidelines provide a lot of paid work for archaeologists, work that didn’t exist before. Expert archaeologists are now hired at all stages of the process to examine the site for archaeological value, then to help draw up the preservation plan to do the research in a professional scientific manner and finally to process the date and write reports and articles. The increased job and career opportunities in Archaeology have increased the number of professional archaeologists in Britain, which is now the highest it’s ever been.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time become valuable lessons for the future. Use reasons and specific examples to support our answer.

Some people argue that most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time can later become valuable experiences. I cannot agree with them more. There are numerous reasons why I hold confidence on this opinion, and I would explore only a few primary ones here.

Difficulties are beneficial to our personal growth. In the course of our life, we will face numerous difficulties, and each difficulty will help us grow up, and become a valuable lesson for the future. A toddler fells off the ground for many times before he knows how to walk, and a child learns how to swim after he drinks water in the swimming pool. In addition, only after we experienced failures, we know the value of success. We will never appreciate anything that comes so easy. Difficulties can make us feel stronger and be more confident for the future obstacles.

Furthermore, difficulties in our work can help us gain more experience and knowledge. Most of the times we can gain knowledge and experiences faster through experiencing difficulties in our life and trying to find a solutions to the perplexities that we face. There is a famous saying, xxxno pain no For example, when we take on a new job that we do not have much experience in, the first few weeks can be extremely painful and we may feel enormous pressure and difficulties. And we will try our best to adjust, to learn and to think, how to do this job better. The more difficulties we feel, the harder we try to acquire the skills and knowledge to overcome it. Learning and this stage is extremely efficient and our problem solving skills well increase. After we overcome more and more problems, we can become an experienced worker in this field and will be able to take on more challenges. We will never fear that we will face the same kind of problem again. This means that we have accumulated valuable experiences for the future.

In a word, a difficult experience is a gift that life gives us. We should appreciate it and take it as a precious opportunity to gain knowledge and experience about our study, work and life.

Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place wouldyou prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

Where should we live? Some may choose to live in big cities, while other like the natural and quietsurroundings in countryside. As far as I am concerned, I would like to live in a big city becauseliving in a big city has more advantages than living in countryside.

To begin with, the city is the symbol of human civilization and there are a many facilities forliving, recreation and health care. Therefore, living there is more convenient than living incountryside. For example, we can find a plenty of malls around our neighborhood, where we canbuy everyday necessities at a low price. Furthermore, people concern more about their health andsafety than other things in their lives. In big cities, medical facilities and emergency services areeasily accessible than in countryside. Big cities also have convenient transportation and utilitysystems. They also offer faster Internet connections. These all make our life easier in big addition, we can take part in a variety of events in big cities. Human being likes to live togetherand need to interact with each other. In a big city, the population density is high therefore thereare always plenty of social activities, sports events and concerts. There are more recreationalplaces in big cities, such as opera houses, movie theatres, clubs, and swimming pools. You willhave many kinds of entertainment in big cities, and meet many people. In countryside, however, the life may be dull and quite, and you may only have a few neighbors. Living alone with fewactivities can easily cause mental diseases.

Some may argue that the pollution in cities makes people sick. However, with automobiles andmodern highways we can easily take a break to expose to fresh air in countryside and sunshine onthe beach.

In conclusion, I strongly hold that living in big cities is much better than living in countrysidebecause of the advanced facilities and social activities in cities. Moreover, the autos and highwaysenable us to enjoy the natural and quiet surroundings in countryside.

In English, there is a well-known fairy story about a poor country boy, Dick Whittington, whogoes to London because he believes that the streets of that city are “paved with gold”. The storyis a tale of “from rags to riches”. Dick eventually becomes the Lord Mayor of London. Like thehero of that story, I always find wonder and adventure in cities.

Cities contain a great assortment of people. Whenever I walk around a shopping precinct atmidday on a weekend, I am fascinated by all the different types of people hurrying around theshops. Sometimes, I just sit on a public bench and simply watch the variegated streams ofshoppers. Today, in the age of globe-trotting transport and communications, city life is moremixed than it has ever been. Capital cities are not cosmopolitan, and eager to attract foreign tradeand currency. There is a contemporary English joke which tells that “you can never find anEnglishman in London”.

Whether rightly or wrongly, governments and local authorities usually build public amenities inthe big cities. Money is invested in transport, libraries, parks and museums. Often, countries willcompete with each other for the best “show-case” building. Malaysia has built a skyscraper that istaller than is anything in New York. In large countries, region will compete against region: NewYork against Chicago, Shanghai against Hong Kong and Beijing.

All of this is good for the citizen. The magic of the Dick Whittington story is rekindled in me whenI enter a library in a magnificent building. If a person is at university studying art or music, a largecity usually offers galleries and public performances. Even as a teenager, I appreciated the worthof living in a city because two or three times a year there was a rock concert by a favorite is the urban landscape. If a person has an appreciation of architecture, a city can beas visually exciting as the Himalayas. A modern metropolis is a mountain range of height, lightand solidness. And then there are the old buildings: the quaint, unspoiled side-street or shops andhomes from a distant age. If a person lived all of his life in one large city, he would continue todiscover its architectural secrets into his old age.

Man is a 'social animal'. He talks, mixes and creates. Cities offer the libraries, universities and cafebars for him to meet others of his kind.

For teenagers aged between 15 to 18, what is the most important to the teacher?

1)the ability to help students plan for future

2)the ability to recognize which student needs help and offer that help

3)the ability to encourage students to learn on their own outside of the classroom

Secondary education can be one of the most formative experiences in a person’s life. What qualities make a good high school teacher? People might go for abilities like helping with future planning or encouraging academic autonomy. I, however, believe that the most important factor is the ability to recognize students in need and the willingness to lend a hand.

The first beneficiary is underachievers. More often than not, students who fall behind suffer from a low self-esteem. It is especially true for teenagers who find it a disgrace to lose face in front of their peers. In this case, they would stay under the radar and try to bury their problems in the dark. Nobody would even notice, not to mention offering any help. However, a teacher with a perceptive mind can discover the problem before it gets worse, so that the troubled kid could get proper help. Let’s say a boy whose parents are going through a nasty divorce may show up late at school or miss the deadline for science projects. If the teacher can spot his recent anomaly and reaches out to him, the boy might open up and confide to the teacher. This is the first step on the road to recovery and an attentive teacher makes all the difference.

Moreover, this valuable quality would rub off on students as well. Instead of lecturing them about helping others, teachers set a better example by practicing what they preach. Seeing the teacher shows compassion and kindness to a kid from disadvantaged background, children are more likely to follow suit and learn to empathize. In contrast, if the teacher is always aloof, school bullies will then pick on the troubled kid. It is because when teachers don’t even bother to care, kids would pick up a wrong message that being indifferent is the best policy. What would them turn into when reaching adulthood? Self-centered. Or even worse, mean and bitter. So it takes a sharp mind to spot trouble and a warm heart to get children out of.

Sure, it is not to say other qualities are trivial. Future career planning offers students some insight into job prospects and college majors. And students would better adjust to college life if they are trained to learn on their own outside of the classroom. But I wouldn’t say such qualities assume more power than an empathetic heart. Why? High schoolers aged 15 to 18 have very vague ideas about their interests and aspiration. That’s why people even take a gap year to figure it out. So why bother planning in such early stage of life while so much remains uncovered and unexplored? As for the ability to encourage learning autonomy, let’s face it, children have been doing this all the time! Since the advent of Internet, children have been drawn to a variety of search engines and websites, which stimulate self-governed learning in a way no teacher can possibly compare to. But the ability to relate to troubled students and lead them out of the woods is in high demand and cannot be replaced.

To sum up, to benefit high school students to a greater extent, the teachers have to be able to recognize what’s going wrong and what can be done to make it right. Other characters can be good to have, but also fine to live without.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The best way to travel is in a group ledby a tour guide. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

There are a lot of views whether the best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide. Differentpeople has different viewpoint. In my opinion, a group led by a tour guide is the best way totravel. The argument for this view goes as follows:

In the first place, there are many advantages when people travel in a group. First, people will notfeel boring in a long trip. People can talk, laugh and make joking like a big family. Second, thegroup will help you a lot when you have any emergency. The people in the group could help youfigure out the awkward situation that will be unimaginable when you travel alone. Third, with thegroup discount, such as the discount for airplane ticket, the hotel, and the admission ticket, travelers can save a lot of money when they use the group discount.

In the second place, there are many advantages too when people travel led by a tour guide. Thetour guide will arrange all the details about the trip in advance. The traveler need not worry aboutwhere to find the hotel, where to rent the car, and how to find the direction. It will make the trip a little bit easy. Another advantage is that led by a tour guide will save much time than travelingalone. With the professional knowledge, tour guide will make the smartest schedule. I wouldnever forget that one of my friend, a city tour guide in the Shanghai, China, said that she can leadtraveler to visit the whole city by one day which people should spend two or three days to finishit.

In conclusion, there are many advantages when people travels in a group led by a tour guide, suchas save money, save time, do not feel boring, and is easy to take care of. Therefore, I stronglyagree that the best way to travel is in a group led by a tour guide.

If a large factory is going to be built near your community, is it good or bad? It’s a quite difficult question to answer. Because there are many aspects to take into your consideration, the advantages and the disadvantages. Let’s talk about that.

First, a large factory, especially a large chemical factory is quite harmful to our environment when it is built near our community. It will affect our daily life a lot. All the chemical factories will produce a lot of waste and most of the wastes are harmful to the environment, including poisonous gas and liquid. Some of them can not be entirely broken down. If they are released into the air or the river, it will affect our health. And also the factory may produce a lot of noise. The environment we want to live in is a quiet and peaceful one, so the noise will be quite boring. And yes, noise also affects our health.

Still one thing, a factory can be very dangerous. Because a fire or a explosion may break out in the factory. If it’s very near our home, it’s quite dangerous.

But in other hand , a factory may be a good news to us. It can provide more jobs for us, especially for the young people in our community. Since the factory is near, it’s so convenient to go to work.. and the factory will get more chances to our area. It will help to develop our area. So if the factory can bring us a lot of chances, we will agree to build one. But the most important things are:

1. Build the factory in a safe distance from our community, not too near.

2. Make sure that the factory can deal with the waste properly. Do not release the poisonous gas

into the air, and not release the waste water into the river nearby.

3. Make sure the security guard in the factory works very well.

Recently, every morning when I wake up, I find my air-conditioner automatically turned off. I didnt understand why at first, but soon I learned that there is a great shortage of electricity supply in our citymy air-conditioner turned off because of a power failure midnight.

With the rapidly developing industry and the ever increasing population, demand for electricity supply is soaring. Besides, summers in recent years are much hotter than before, so most working places and households are air-conditioned, which consumes additional electricity.

Faced with such a hard nut, we have to find ways to crack it. Above all, in western areas of China, there is surplus of electricity supply. So, cities that are thirsty for electricity may ask for remote help. Then, when we have electricity, we should remember to save it. Set your air-conditioners at 270C and you wont feel less comfortable than when they are at 260C. In fact, some factories already shift their working hours to avoid the peak time of electricity-consuming. My parents dont work from Monday through Friday as beforethey work from Sunday through Thursday and have/take the following two days off instead. This is also a way out, isnt it?

In this day and age, an increasing proportion of films have been made on the basis of the original books. Thus, a hot discussion been triggered on whether it is a better option for people to read books or watch films first. Some people may consider that watching films before reading books would be a wiser idea as this could make it easier for them to understand what the authors aim to convey to them due to already having a brief comprehension by watching. Quite the opposite, I believe reading books first is more useful for the reasons listed below.

First and foremost, compared to watching films first, reading the originals first is more beneficial to stimulate our imagination. As the saying goes, “there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes.” Indeed, everyone can have completely different perspectives when reading the same contents of a book: their insights into the gist and the inspirations they draw from the story may vary widely from individual to individual. Take the original book and film Roman Holiday as an example. On account of only a few descriptions and details without any illustrations to characterize the real image and personality of the heroine Audrey Hepburn in the book, we could conceive many figures of this beauty in terms of her appearance and character, such as how exquisite and perfect her facial features and body proportions were, whether she loved to wear the dress and high heels in that age as modern women do, to which extent she was well-liked and respected among those around her and so on. In other words, keeping reading the original before watching the film allows us to be armed with fertile imagination. In stark contrast, provided that we watch this movie first and then read the book, it is improbable that we could stir our imagination: the fixed images of the actors, the scenes and the dialogues in the movies would lead us to naturally bring these stereotypical impressions to the novel so that we would not be prone to depict her possible body features or disposition in our minds while reading. Hence, watching films in the wake of reading the original books is more instrumental in helping us to be imaginative.

Secondly, reading books first is more conducive to boosting our language skills than watching films first. Reading the originals, especially those written in or prior to the Middle Ages, first is quite challenging for a majority of us because there is usually a wealthy of complicated syntax structures as well as uncommon words which modern writers would not use at all. Therefore, while reading them, we would instinctively look up those unknown words and expressions in the dictionary to help us at least comprehend the superficial meanings of them, otherwise we would have great difficulty resuming reading the rest of the contents. Gradually, we would find that we have already enriched our vocabularies, become proficient in grammar rules and been capable of quickly grasping the essential information of those abstract sentences and main ideas of the whole stories. In addition, after we have read the books thoroughly and then watched the films, via the captions, vivid pictures as well as clear manners and facial expressions of the actors in the movies, we could have our inner emotions aroused towards each fate of the main character and even be able to experience in which kind of mood the authors wrote their stories while consolidating the correct use of certain words and grammatical structures that have learned on our own previously in books. On the other hand, if we have had a general understanding of the plots by the former watching, we would not be motivated to calm ourselves down to pore the details of the stories, let alone strengthening our language application abilities. Consequently, reading the originals first is more favorable to raise our overall language levels.

To sum up, considering all the factors above, we can safely come to the conclusion that we should read the originals first and then watch the films.

Employers will be hesitant to invest in you.

“When jumping from job to job you are showing future employers that there is a high likelihood that you will do the same to them,” Kahn says. “Also at most companies, putting in the years of work with them proves your loyalty helping to strengthen your job security. Loyalty goes a long way and from the employers perspective gives them dependability that they can count on.”

Parnell agrees. “It is usually quite expensive to recruit, court, hire and ramp up a new employee,” he says. “Should they leave in a short period of time, it can be quite costly to an employer. This fact alone makes a spotty employment history very suspicious and scary to a potential employer.”

Your job may be less secure. If your employer is forced to lay off employees, you might be the first to go (given your track record of leaving companies quickly), Cashman says.

Lack of satisfaction. “Like the professional version of parenthood, one of the greatest satisfactions in a career is to be a part of a product’s (or services) genesis and ultimate release,” Parnell says. “Where most products and services have a relatively long life-cycle, a job hopper will never experience such a satisfaction.”

You may damage relationships. More and more, employers are turning to professional reference checkers to verify information and otherwise double-check their potential investment in a new employee, Parnell says. “In an environment where relationships are more important than ever, gaining experience by job hopping seriously compromises one’s potential for developing deeper, more reliable contacts that can act as guarantors.”

They may question your judgment. The employer might wonder if you’re prone to making bad decisions. “One or two short stints might be acceptable if you went to a company that went bankrupt or were caught up in a layoff or just plain chose the wrong fit–but many of these might indicate you are someone who doesn’t have good judgment,” Cashman says. “Bad judgment is definitely not on the list of desired employee traits.”

They’ll fear you’ll leave at the first sign of trouble. “The employer will wonder if youjump ship at the first sign of trouble, or if you always think the grass is greener someplace else,” Cashman says. “It’s one thing to read the tea leaves and move on if it’s clear your company is struggling, but a potential employer likely wants to see some history of loyalty and the ability to be part of the solution when the going gets tough.”

Lesson learned: There are many benefits and drawbacks to job hopping–but if you do it for the right reasons and maintain healthy relationships with past employers, the pros should outweigh the cons and you’ll be seen as a flexible, resourceful candidate.

“The most important thing is to be able to demonstrate that no matter where you worked or for how long, that you were someone who was critical to the success of a project or the company as a whole,” says Steve Kasmouski, president of the Search Divisions at WinterWyman. “Your resume should tell the reader why you were important to the success of some project or company and should show that you have grown over time gaining increased responsibility, scope and success.”

As we all know, lately the National People's Congress has passed several significant perposals, including the new festivals and holidays holiday is going to take place of 'Golden Week', which has been written into our latest Labour law.

Instinct attitudes have been proclaimed by different ones who support this new measurement argue that, short-holiday not only is capable of effectively mitigating the transporting and environment pressures caused by heavy tourism industry, but also allows us to celebrate the traditional May Day. However, opposites do not agree with it. In their opinions, only by long-holiday could grant the employees and workers to be provided with sufficient opportunities to relax and is worse, sum of potential profits, particularly the tourism margins would lost by implementing this legislation.

As to me, this new regulation is acceptable on the the one hand, we college students still can enjoy our holidays with our families and friends. On the other hand, compared with a whole week holidays, short rest would probably allow us to return to our studies and business more efficiently.

Chinese Buddhist temples are never single buildings. They always consist of a group buildings following a fundamental patter, which can, however, be modified. The main buildings and their symmetrically corresponding secondary buildings form individual groups and courtyards. The entire temple complex is spacious. The buildings inside the complex are usually single-storied and the main halls are sometimes decorated with a double roof. The towers, pavilions and halls can be multi-storied structures.

The Chinese temple complex has been subject to great structural changes throughout the centuries. But temple architects follow the basic principles of secular structures from the Tang Dynasty onwards. The complexes stand on a central axis, usually a north-south axis: east-west only as an exception. (Guiyuan Temple is just the very exception.) The main buildings are strung along this central axis, their broadest sides facing south or east.

The most important and most frequently presented building inside a Buddhist temple complex are the main entrance gate, the bell and drum towers, the Hall of the Heavenly Kings, the Hall of the Buddha and a pagoda.

Buddhism is said to be founded in India in the 6th century BC by Siddatha Gautama (BC565< >

A dream is to a man what wings are to a bird. With a dream in the deep heart's core, a man is spontaneously driven to hitch his wagon to a star. A dream is an inexhaustible source of energy that keeps our enthusiasm burning, and kindles our desire to enhance our spiritual cultivation, refine our character, and upgrade our quality of life. A life without a dream is like a bird with broken wings, confined to a cage and oblivious of what lies beyond the range of its vision. On the contrary, a man with a dream is like a warrior armed with ambition, foresight and gallantry, daring to step into an unknown domain to make a journey of adventure. It is dream that adds fullness, variety, and spice to our life and makes it worth living.

I have a dream. It is a dream that is deeply rooted in human nature. I dream that one day people of all origins can live in harmony and peace without being discriminated against or persecuted. The bounty of the earth can be shared by every single human being. Mutual respect will guarantee the existence and continuation of the diversity of customs and cultures. Love, sympathy, and cooperation will alleviate the sufferings and disasters inflicted upon our fellow men. Respect for basic human rights will put an end to social injustices and evils.

People attend colleges or universities for many different reasons. I believe that the three most common reasons are to prepare for a career, to have new experiences, and to increase knowledge of oneself and the world around.

Career preparation is becoming more and more important to young people. For many, this is the primary reason to go to college. They know that the job market is competitive. At college, they can learn new skills for careers with a lot of opportunities. This means careers, such as information technology, that are expected to need a large workforce in the coming years.

Also, students go to colleges and universities to have new experiences. This often means having the opportunity to meet people different from those in their hometowns. For most students, going to college is the first time they’ve been away from home by themselves. In additions, this is the first time they’ve had to make decisions on their own. Making these decisions increases their knowledge of themselves.

Besides looking for self-knowledge, people also attend a university or college to expand their knowledge in subjects they find interesting. For many, this will be their last chance for a long time to learn about something that doesn’t relate directly to a career.

I would recommend that people not be so focused on a career. They should go to college to have new experiences and learn about themselves and the world they live in.

Agree or disagree: students do reading by their own is as important as or more important than the reading teachers assigned.

Reading is a process of procuring knowledge and the ways of reading vary for students between reading on their own and reading as told by their teachers. As for me, it will be more beneficial to read books in line with students’ wishes.

For one thing, students should read what they are curious about and can find interests in, which can find wide application among college students in particular. In order to hone one’s talents and crafts with specific purpose, college students will find the more practical books to read to strengthen their competence for their future competing with other rivals in the job market. Take Steve Jobs as an example. After attending the college just for a few months, he couldn’t figure out how the college life would help him in the future except for imposing his working family enormous financial , he decided to drop out so he could stop taking the required classes and reading the assigned reading materials that did not interest him and began dropping in on the ones that looked interesting. Finally, the last several months for his college life turned out to be priceless later on since he took a calligraphy class and read the relative books, the knowledge of which had been applied to produce the first computer with beautiful typography. Evidently, part of Steve Job’s accomplishments can prove how essential for students to read by following their own curiosity and intuition.

For another thing, students can be more absorbed in the books that they like. To be more specific, compared with the assigned papers or articles, students’ incentive can be more stimulated by reading what they like. For instance, the prevailing notion of children’s education is that they should develop their own interests by reading what can intrigue their inquisitiveness or stimulate their imagination. Therefore, there is a voice coming out today that more freedom needs to be given to primary school students so that they can read some more interesting books like the science-fiction novels or tales and etc. Besides, too much focus on cultivating students’ academic abilities and the ignorance of developing their overall qualities will lead to the development of elites with less morality. Obviously, the benefits of reading books by students themselves and the detriment of just reading as assigned by teachers can tell us how important to give students’ rights to choose what they read.

Admittedly, reading what teachers assigned can be of also importance. In other words, teachers will be familiar with which area students should be improved to achieve better academic performance. For instance, teachers will require students to engage in extensive reading to increase students’ reading ability. However, it can not be the reason to regard reading as students wish as inferior because students can better improve their reading ability by being absorbed in what they like most.

To conclude, students should enjoy the rights to decide what they read.

A pair of sharp ears on the head, bright eyes in the night like sparkling pearls. This is the familiar animal - kitten.

We probably know that the cat's beard is used as a "caliper" to catch mice when drilling holes! In fact, when the beard touches the hole, it means the hole is too small. On the contrary, the cat can get into the hole.

Once, I was surprised to find that an orange white cat caught the hateful mouse with its sharp claws. The cat fell half dead and half alive on the mouse, and then ate it. After eating, shaking his beard and waiting for a new fight. This reminds me of "Encyclopedia of primary school students" that why the cat does not sound when walking, it turns out that there is a piece of soft meat where the cat's feet are closest to the ground! Now, I know more about the science of cats.

Cats always meow, meow. I think the cat can't catch the mouse if it barks at night.

The club of your school plan to help one of the following group of people,

pupils reading and math

2. build houses for those who cannot afford the house

care of the old

Life is loaded with various difficulties and hardship, especially for old people who are incapable of taking good care of themselves because of their poor physical quality. Therefore, among the three choices of helping young students in nearby primary school, helping people to find new houses for rent and assisting old people for caring them, I definitely choose the last one.

For one thing, because of being committed to their career, the middle-age can hardly take good care of their parents. To address a sequence of job assignments, city employees, the majority of whom have turned to the middle age, are required to be immersed in their career. Take ordinary citizens as examples. When it comes to businessmen, dealing with the complicated relationship with their counterparts or consumers will lead them to be shortage of time to accompany their families, given that all their time and energy are occupied. Speaking of policemen, to maintain stable social order and crack down on any happening or underlying crimes, they are supposed to be on duty at any time, making it impossible for them to care their families. And it is also an episode likely to be applied in the movie by the film maker that policemen are woking on the investigation and cannot keep promises they make for their families , impressing audiences again and again. As for the career of teachers, what they normally do is either to prepare for their presentations or remedy their students’ assignments. Apparently, the contemporary middle-age citizens cannot take good care of their parents and college students had better provide their help.

For another thing, the process of helping the old can cultivate college students’ sense of responsibility that matters in their future life and profession. Many more universities will, literally, decide whether to admit students by checking if there is any volunteering experience like taking care of the old in a nursing home in their application materials. In an era of both highly developed economy and technology, it tends to be easier for children to develop the unwanted behaviors and unhealthy values and world outlook. Nowadays, people can often hear the News about college students failing to graduate from schools because of their addiction to video games and many overseas students catching the affluenza which refers to wealthy people who like to show their richness by purchasing many unnecessary luxuries. Therefore, many young people’s ideology has been distorted seriously and it is urgent to call on their sense of responsibility. And taking good care of the old can teach them a lot. For instance, they will be conscious of the fact that there is still a vulnerable group that needs to be assisted and their contribution to the society can drive away the solitude of the old. Thus, they will increase their confidence in undertaking more social responsibilities.

Admittedly, some others may lay emphasis on the importance of helping the young since they are the future of a nation. From what I believe, it is hype since the education of young children does not count on the help from college students. As for the statement that college students should help others rent a house, that is ridiculous since there have been a wide range of choices for tenants among diverse Apps via the Internet. To conclude, helping the old can be of enormous benefits for both the old and the young.

There are two main channels for people to learn knowledge –from books and from experience.

Generally, knowledge gained from books is theoretical, that gained from experience is practical. It is difficult to answer which is more important to we people. It depends on the phases and events of our learning. Knowledge learned from books is instructive, which perhaps cannot learn directly from experience. We often hear thunders雷声 and see lightning in the sky, and we can easily find that lightning will be seen sooner than sound will be heard. According to our experience alone, we cannot tell why it had happened. But when we learn some physics in textbooks, we will find the answer clearly that because light travels faster than sound does, it takes less time for light to travel the same distance than for sound. Therefore, book knowledge can inform us some useful theories that can give us general ideas and help us understand the real phenomenon .

In turn反之, practice knowledge check out the theories gained from books. There is an old Chinese saying that practice is the only criterion of inspecting the truth. So not all knowledge from books is credible, even false. When Aristotle wrote in his transcripts that the earth is the center of our planets, no one doubts this for centuries. However, when Galileo read about it, he did not suspect it at first, but when he made some observation and research, he found it is not the truth. Then comes the new theory—Sun center theory.

I support the idea that a factory to be built near our community. I list my reasons as follows. Firstly, a new factory near our community helps to improve living standard of people in our community. The factory will employ a lot of workers. As a consequence, the unemployment rate will drop significantly. Many people in our community will find a job in the factory. As people's income increases, they will be able to spend more money on their food, clothing and leisure time, and the quality of life will be increased.

Secondly, a new factory will bring prosperity to our community. The tax collected from a factory is an important source of revenue for our town. As people have higher income, income tax collected will also be increased. The town will be able to spend more money on infrastructures and other development. Moreover, in order to accommodate more workers, more homes and stores will be needed. This will boost real estate development in our community.

Some people say that a factory would bring smog and pollution, and destroy the quality of the air and water in town. This is not the truth. Modern technologies have made today's factories technology intensive and brought pollutions to the minimum. There are also worries that the social structure of this community will be changed and the traditional life will be affected. We should understand that society needs to evolve and we cannot always stay in the old time.

Of course, there will be some drawbacks of building a new factory here. But in my opinion, the benefits outweigh the dangers. I strongly support to build a factory here, and hope that others feel the same way.

Should a city try to preserve its old, historic buildings or destroy them and replace them withmodern buildings? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

An age of popular entertainment stars, talk show hosts,hi-pop singers , or even the cyber celebrities from the populaceare the group who are enjoying great fame and fact to young university students , entertainment is even more prevalent and needed. But a question is how to entertain them better - performance by the student actors, the concert by professional musicians or a lecture by a professor? Based on the thorough analysis, the plan of students’ performance in theatre will be the first choice .

First , the plan of students’ performance in theatre, rather than the plan of concert by professionals and the one of lecture by professors ,will attract a wider range of students to engage in such an entertainment .

Second , my proposal rather than the counterpart ones will better suit students taste-more enjoyment will be hoped.

Last , considering the classical masterpieces needed in rehearse, my suggestions will cultivate the more genuine and deeper love for appreciation for aesthetic values.

The use of computer is increasingly popular in modern society. Some people think that thecomputer makes life more convenient and easier because they can compile documents, buy goodsthrough the Internet and do other works on the computer. Nevertheless, in my opinion, thecomputer makes life more complex and stressful. There are many instances supporting myopinion.

Before the computer was invented, people only need to learn the knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and so on. However, today people have to learn how to operate the computer,to use a variety of software and if the computer does not work, people have to learn how to repairit. People have to learn not only the knowledge of software but also that of hardware. No endinglearning makes people exhausted and their life more complex.

The computer also makes life more stressful. The society in which we live is called "information society& quot ;. Thanks for the development of the computer, the rhythm of life are increasinglyrapid. The business men has so many meetings to attend, so many e-mails to deal with that theyhave no time to have his lunch. Some students have to work late on the computer to do the homework at night. There are more and more people struggling from the nervous sickness andcomplaining the "busy life".

The rapid development of the computer makes people feel stressful, too. The new generation of the software and the hardware, the update of them, all of these make people have to pay more andmore time and money on their computers.

Although the computer has become an indispensable part of our life, it can be concluded from theabove statements that the computer makes life more complex and stressful.

Does technology make children less creative than in the past?

Are our kids becoming lazier and less creative, less imaginable than before as a consequence of highly advanced technology? My answer is no, and just the opposite, technology has apparently assisted our kids to become more creative.

First and foremost, technology has provided children with easy access to scientific and liberal art resources which is their best source of inspiration. For example, children could now easily gain access to academic databases through iPad screen, read classical works on Kindle, or watch historic documents on Internet. These great works are essentially helpful to arousing their curiosity and prepares them with key knowledge necessary for any creation. However, these wonderful equipments and facilities are never as handy in the past, when kids could only reach limited resources in public libraries or schools. In this sense, technology has provided the possibility for children to be more creative.

Second, technology has equipped children with professional apparatus which could finally realize their imagination. This takes form particularly as computer softwares and applications, such as Photoshop for creative graphic design, Overture for easily composing a piece of music, 3DMax for building up a virtual world, etc.. All the software were never as handy as they are at present, and this would absolutely provides our children an effective tool for realizing their creativity.

Third, technology itself is a market place where creative ideas are economically encouraged. Steve Jobs earned millions of dollars a year for his unparallel creation, and Mark Zuckberg gained his reputation for the genius social network. Therefore, technology has provided children the internal motive to develop their creativity.

However, it is undeniable that technology might make children become lazier and be comfortable with what is already available because everything are so convenient nowadays and there seems to be no way to improve them. Children lost in pc games or blindly pursuing every single piece of tech apparatus is a relevant example. Thus, it is always necessary to keep children’s mind active in the marvelous world of technology.

In a nutshell, I still regard children as becoming increasingly creative in technology development, although it might bring minor side effect. As along as we keep a balanced mood on children enjoying the fruit of technology, they are sure to contribute more to innovation than in the past.

With the development of human society, people are living longer now. Many factors interactingtogether to enable the longer life. There are three most important causes: the quality of food hasbeen greatly improved; people could have medical services; more and more people realize thatregular sports benefit their health.

The improving quality of our food is the most important factor of the longer life. We could havenot only enough food as we want, but also the healthier food. When we preparing food, we nolonger consider the cost, but pay more attention to the nutritions of the food. With thedevelopment of transportation systems, inland people now could also enjoy seafood and tropicalfruit.

Furthermore, governments are paying more and more money on medical establishments. Citizenscould have medical services more easily. Because of the convenient medical service moreillnesses could be detected at an earlier stage. Also, many illnesses that had been considered fatalcould be cured today. The better detection and curement enable people's longer life.

Last but not least important is that people care more for their own health. Every morning youcould see people doing sports outside. More and more people have realized the saying "life islocomotion". To sum up, the development of our society causes the longer life of people. People have betterfood and better medical services. And people spend more time on sports to biuld up strongerbodies. As we could predict, people are going to live even longer.

一. 价格会更便宜;

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Playing computer games is a waste of time. Children should not be allowed to play them.。

这里我们尽量语气要委婉些,下面是一些会用到的词组表达:——Admittedly / Undoubtedly / There is no denying that / It cannot be denied that——May / might / possibly / probably——One / one or two / a couple of / minor / several——To some extent / to some degree【常见错误】很多考生让步段用although开头,但是although后面只能跟一个从句,所以后面主题句的内容就没有办法展开了。

However, the advantages of A are more important than those of B.让步方优点与支持方优点比起来较少,或支持方缺点与优点比起来较少。However, the advantages of A are far more than those / that of , the advantages of A outnumber those / that of B.对方的好处,我方也可以有办法得到;我方的坏处可以有办法消除。However, the problem can be solved by …However, the negative influence can be eliminated by …

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Playing computer games is a waste of time. Children should not be allowed to play them.

Admittedly, playing computer games does harbor several drawbacks.

Some children are addicted to playing computergames and ignore their studies, thereby suffering from poor academic performance. Also, over exposure to computer games with high concentration will sooner or later cause the impairment of their eyesight.

让步:However, most children are able to control themselves to play games in moderation. Also, their parents can intervene and supervise as well. Specifically, they could set strict rules on how much time their children could play games everyday and on what conditions they could do so, therefore it is completely unnecessary to forbid them to play computer games.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time become valuable lessons for the future. Use reasons and specificexamples to support our answer.

Some people argue that most experiences in our lives that seemed difficult at the time, can laterbecome valuable experiences. I cannot agree with them more. There are numerous reasons why Ihold confidence on this opinion, and I would explore only a few primary ones here.

Difficulties are beneficial to our personal growth. In the course of our life, we are going to facenumerous difficulties and obstacles, and each difficulty will help us grow up, and become avaluable lesson for the future. A toddler fells off the ground for many times before he knows howto walk, and a child learns how to swim after he drinks water in the swimming pool. In addition, only after we experienced failures, we know the value of success. We will never appreciateanything that comes so easy. Difficulties can make us feel stronger and be more confident for the future obstacles.

Furthermore, difficulties in our work can help us gain more experience and knowledge. Most ofthe times we can gain knowledge and experiences faster through experiencing difficulties in ourlife and trying to find a solutions to the perplexities that we face. There is a famous saying, nopain, no gain. For example, when we take on a new job that we do not have much experience in,the first few weeks can be extremely painful and we may feel enormous pressure and difficulties.

And we will try our best to adjust, to learn and to think, how to do this job better. The moredifficulties we feel, the harder we try to acquire the skills and knowledge to overcome it. Learningand this stage is extremely efficient and our problem-solving skills well increase. After weovercome more and more problems, we can become an experienced worker in this field and willbe able to take on more challenges. We will never fear that we will face the same kind of problemagain. This means that we have accumulated valuable experiences for the future.

In a word, a difficult experience is a gift that life gives us. We should appreciate it and take it as aprecious opportunity to gain knowledge and experience about our study, work and life.

Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place wouldyou prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

I grew up in a small town and then moved to a big city, so I have experienced the good and badsides of both. I never thought that I would like living in a big city, but I was wrong. After ten yearsof living in one, I can't imagine ever living in a small town again.

Small towns and big cities both have some problems in terms of transportation. In a small town, you have to own a car to ensure a comfortable living. You can't get around without one becausethere isn't any kind of public transportation. Big cities generally have heavy traffic and expensiveparking, but there you have a choice of taking public transportation. It's not free, but it's oftencheaper than driving when you consider gas and time. Especially if you don't have a car, you'rebetter off in the city.

I love the excitement of big cities. Small towns have a slow pace. Large cities mean you have toadapt to a variety of situations, like finding a new route to work or trying a new restaurant. I enjoythat challenge very much. Another pan of the excitement of city living is the variety of culturalactivities available. There is a wide assortment of theatre, music and dance in big cities. These things are rare in small ones.

The final thing I like about large cities is the diversity of the people. The United States is made upof people of different races, religions, abilities, and interests. However, you seldom find such avariety of people in a smaller town. I think that living in an area where everyone was just like mewould quickly become boring.

Of course, security is a concern, and that's one area where small towns are superior to big , I would rather be a bit more cautious and live in a large city than to feel secure but bored.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Grades (marks) encourage students tolearn. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Many people in the world share a belief that grades make students work hard. I agree with theabove statement because I believe that high grades are more helpful in getting a bright future.

One of benefits of the high grade is that it promotes a learner's interest. Interest is the bestmotivation to encourage students to learn. If a learner has a good score in English, he will find thatEnglish is a beautiful language. For example I love to learn math, because it brings me happinesswhen I get a high score in a math exam. When I went to university, I select mach as my second reason is that schools give us a chance to learn knowledge, why not try our best to getit. In our lives these knowledge has important effect on our mind which need be wise by an by. Inaddition, self-credit may be instruct by good marks. It is also important to our life.

A further solid argument for the high grade is that it means a good future career. Many companieswould rather hire students who are with high grades.

As far as I am concerned, I come to the notion that there are main reasons why I support thatgrades encourage students to learn. Firstly, high scores spring learner' interests. Secondly, studentsget self-credit through it. Furthermore, A good job may wait these students who have high marks.

Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business? Use specific reasons to explain your choice.

Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for anemployer. Personally, I prefer to work for myself. I choose to be self-employed because of thereasons as follows.

I can decide what I do according my own willing and interest. This point is the most importantbecause one person can find work motivity from his interest. I also can decide how to do thething. I can choose my own directions and ways, whereas those who are employed by others mustdo work according to the directions of their employers.

The other important point is that I have freedom to decide when I do the thing. The time I work isdetermined by myself. I am not constricted by other people. Hence, if I am tired, I can rest in thedaytime; if I have more energy, I can work late at night. I have more freedom on the choice ofwork time than those who work for an employer.

I work for myself, so I only can depend on myself. This can train me to learn more knowledge andto work hard and teach me to face the success and the failure correctly. I can learn how to takeadvantage of different conditions and deal with different situations from the practice. I can learnto encourage myself when I succeed and not to be afraid of difficulties and failures.

Based on the above statements, I think that self-employing has more advantages. So I prefer to beself-employed.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child's success in school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Although students stay with their classmates all time in school, parents are a more importantinfluence on a child’s success. I disagree with the statement that classmates are a more importantinfluence on a child’s success in school, because of the reasons as follows.

First of all, parents are the people who understand their own children best. They know thechildren’s good sides and bad habits. They can correct the children’s bad idea and make them giverid of the bad habits. So children can found a good base to get success in school. But classmatescan not do these work.

The other reason is that parents have experiences on a lot of matters. If children have problems, parents can give them their experiences to help them solve problems. If parents have no similarexperiences, they still can give their children some advice and make them avoid the wrong

directions. Classmates can also give children some help, but they do not have more experiencesthan parents. So their influence is less than that of parents.

Parents also have other important influence on their children’s success in school. Parents mayanalyze something in different ways and have different opinions from children. Classmates alsocan have different opinions on one thing, but they are at the same conditions with each other, their opinions may be similar or narrow. Children can learn more comprehensive knowledge abouton thing from their parents.

So, based on the above discussion, I think it is clear that parents are a more important influencethan classmates on a child’s success in school.

Disagree

Most people are so busy that there is occasionally too much to do, so they must work on several projects at once. In fact, there are actually many advantages to working on two or more projects simultaneously as opposed merely to doing them one at a time.

Nowadays, there is simply not enough time to work exclusively on one project, so people must often take on two or more tasks together. Indeed, by doing several projects at once, a person can actually save time. For example, once I had to write an article for my school newspaper and study for a Chinese decided to do them both together, so I listened to my Chinese lessons on a CD while writing the did well on the test and submitted the article on time. Sometimes, one can save time by doing activities together and still do them well.

By working on several things at once, I find that I can focus more on the tasks at hand. This serves to enhance my performance, thereby letting me do work better and quicker. Last semester,I had to study for two tests and write a paper on the same was worried about all this work, so I concentrated solely on my turned off my cell phone, shut down my computer, and stayed in my room until I had completed all those tasks. Being focused exclusively on those projects enabled me to ignore the unimportant things and focus on what was crucial.

Lastly, while doing several things at once can be stressful, doing so successfully can be rewarding. By showing you are capable of multitasking, you can prove you skills and abilities to others. For instance, I volunteer at my school's library. The librarian once asked me to do two things simultaneously; catalog all the new books and complete a plan for a reading project for children. I managed to finish both jobs on time, which impressed the librarian so much that she recommended me for a summer job at the local library. Showing people you can do good work will always benefit you in the future. In conclusion, doing several projects at once can save time, enhance one's performance, and be rewarding in the benefits one receives. While multitasking might not be for everyone, I have found it to be an enjoyable and beneficial experience.

Topic: 9

With the development of the transportation system and some residence institution, the world isgetting smaller and smaller, and people are not restricted in only one area. In addition to theconvenient condition, because there are different places with different cultures, living standards, education environment and other disparity, they are inclined to transfer from one place to theother. Is it better to move around than stay in one place? I believe there are no uniform answers, but in my opinion, I do agree with the claim that to move around is better than to stay in oneplace.

Most people’s growth comes with the transfers in their life. As for me, when I was young I lived ina small county. Because the school in there was not suitable to me, I transferred from my littlecounty to a city to get a better education. As soon as I got to the city, I was amazed that the worldhere was so different here as my hometown .If I still lived in my hometown, it was impossible forme to make the wildest guess at what the real world looked like. The first transfer has made me toimagine my own life and spur on me to go further. With the confidence, I went into a universitywhich I would never think of it before. The university is located in a different city so that I haveto come into another world. Compared with my living city, the one is more complicated in whichthere are different people, more convenient transportation, more competitive environment. I loveall of this very much. Communicating with different students and teachers, I have learned muchfrom them which will benefit me throughout my life and my lifestyle. Now I am in a graduateschool also so beautiful that I will never regret my selection of leaving my hometown because thetransfer has given me a splendid life.

Also, like we students, there are many adults transferring their work place in order to grasp betteropportunities. No matter in industry, in agriculture or in service, workers have rights to choosetheir work companies which leads them to work from place to place and then they accumulateprecious experience and skills to get priorities to others.

People not only transfer in their own country, but also go abroad to get education, work or livethrough the rest of their life in appropriate countries. We can see that many students including mewant to go to the foreign countries to study further and forge ourselves, and that many parentssend their little sons or daughters to foreign countries to study. After all, diverse circumstancesgive persons new experience and broaden their narrow sight, even help them get morecomprehensive understanding of the world, the society and our life itself.

However, some people may say that if people move around, they will pay for much such asmoney, time and energy. It is right to say that it takes one person some time to get used to his orher new environment, new personal relationship which indeed influences the growth of children, the efficiency of our work and the stability of our society and family. And I have to admit thatpeople should make considerate plans before changing their places and may not transfer aimlesslyand frequently. But I think sometimes it is just all the friction that has made the world wealthierand more beautiful. Therefore, I still think it is better to travel around than to live in one place.

Coincident with most people's notion is my heartfelt belief that television advertising directed toward young children should not be allowed. Since the advent of television, advertising has permeated every corner and every minute of our life. It is not uncommon to observe the large amounts of television advertising aiming at innocent young children. My reasons for opposing advertising directed toward young children are as follows. In the first place, advertising may waste money and cause emotional torture of parents when they fail to fulfill their children's unreasonable demands. However, nowadays, regardless of what children's true need, most of advertising are promoting a largenumber of products that is useless or unsuitable to children. For example, when a family ishaving a pleasant dinner together on Christmas Eve, a cartoon figure lion king would appear on screen and hold a tub of popcorn to attract children's attention. It is a typical advertising strategy host sale. By combining popular cartoon figures and products, advertising could draw children's attention and achieve a better sale. However, it may cause some problems; first, some children may be easy to be drawn into the content in the advertising; second, if children are attracted by it and they insist on purchasing it while parents consider the products as a piece of meaningless junk, cry and screams could drive their parents crazy. Therefore, advertising could cause problems not only for children to understand but also may bother and upset their parents. Furthermore, advertising could mislead children for major goal of most of advertisings is to make profits whereas children between age two to five lack ability of understanding and judgment. Children are easily influenced by outside world, and admittedly television advertising play a negative role in this aspect for they tend to exaggerate the advantage of their products. For example, my two year old younger brother is attracted to Transformer, Spiderman and Superman models. In his mind, these toys are magic, fantastic and powerful as imparted by advertising. In fact, they are just normal toys; they cannot fly, climb mountains or save people's life. Some two year old boys even are just babbling instead of speaking clearly, not to mention identifying misleading messages conveyed in the advertisings. Thus, these advertising has misled and distorted children’s vision toward reality. All in all, though there are some undeniable benefits of advertising for children; for example, advertising could open an amazing world of imagination and innovation for children by informing them what a fabulous Barbie or a magnificent castle is. However, these advantages could be ignored when its disadvantages are taken into consideration. It would mislead the children, distort their vision toward reality and even cause quarrels and financial burdens for parents.

1:effectively addresses the writing topic and task.

2:well organized and well developed

3:uses specific details and examples to support you view

4:displays language facility by demonstrating syntactic variety, word choice and idiom.(通过谴词造句和习惯表达来展示语言的熟练程度)

能用first千万不要用firstly,能用finally千万不要用last but not least.

The main reason for my view is that .

First of all, Second,

Finally,

So, .

Another reason for my view is that .

On one hand, . For example,

. In addition, .

Finally, .

In conclusion, based on the reasons I discussed above,(please rewrite the first paragraph in another way). . .

每个人都会说work hard and work smart.

Nowadays, children rely too much on the technology, like computers, smartphone, video games for fun and entertainment; playing simpler toys or playing outside with friends would be better for the children's development.

For parents, how to well plan their children’s development has been a huge problem. While some children are given more time on technological gadgets, others are more inclined to choose some activities, such as going camping or traveling. For me, the former option would be a better one.

Admittedly, playing simpler toys or playing outside might be good choice for children. Simpler toys, namely Lego, are a good way to develop children’s thinking on solving the problem through block by block. By assembling the pieces for different blocks, children could assemble an even big piece, such as the classic London Tower Bridge. Also, playing with friends is helpful. When they are playing with others, they would cooperate with them to playing sports or even solve problems. However, on balance, both of these ways are limited in helping children. Toys and outdoor activities are restrained to their actual forms: parents need lots of money to buy different toys to help children develop, and they pay a great amount of money on helping their children for different activities. For those parents who suffer from financial burden, these are not effective ways for children’s development. Comparatively, technology would be a more effective way for children.

Firstly, Internet via computers and smartphone are essential for their development. In other words, Internet provides students with vast amounts of information. According to a recent survey conducted by Gallup, after polling thousands of students from local high schools, most respondents claim that Internet is the helper from them to finish homework. When they have problems, they would search reference on Internet. Websites such as Google Scholar would be a wonderful tool for them to find some papers or academic reference for their homework. Meanwhile, Internet is a wonderful place for them to entertain as well. They could watch movies on . They could even find interesting stories on . All funny experiences are available on Internet without causing children too much money.

In addition, video games are also necessary for children’s growth. When children are playing video games, they might learn some strategic thinking. For example, when I am playing FIFA 2016, I have to manage my team members according to their physical strength so that I could beat other teams. For those who run quickly, it would be a good idea for them to play forward; for those who are tall and strong, they would be better playing middle field. Because of this team management strategy, I have achieved many titles in the game. Learning from this, I would allocate my time in finishing homework according to my energy level. When I am energetic, I might choose the most difficult homework; if I am tired, I might choose some easy-to-do tasks, which would not cost me much time.

To conclude, while playing toys or spending time on outdoor activities is a good way for their development, technology would be better way.
